    TOURISM RELATED EXPENDITURES AND JOBS INCREASE IN PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY & CITY OF MANASSAS

    Discover Prince William & Manassas, a tourism marketing and promotion arm for Prince William County and the City of Manassas, is pleased to announce that Prince William County, the City of Manassas, as well as the Commonwealth of Virginia, experienced an increase in tourism related economic spending in 2015, according to the latest data released by the U.S. Travel Association. According to the research, tourism in Virginia generated $23 billion in travel spending. Tourism, supported 223,000 jobs and $1.6 billion in state and local taxes.

    NORTHERN VIRGINIA TOURISM DESTINATIONS CREATE ARTISAN TRAIL TO ATTRACT VISITORS

    The Artisans Center of Virginia (ACV), in partnership with community members and the tourism marketing agencies representing Prince William & Manassas, Fauquier, and Stafford counties, kicked off the development of the Commonwealth’s newest artisan trail with a management team orientation at Windy Knoll Farm in Nokesville in July 2016 (additional public events schedule below). “Fauquier County is excited to partner with Stafford and Prince William Counties, and the Artisans Center of Virginia to support arts and culture in our communities.

    DISCOVER PRINCE WILLIAM & MANASSAS CELEBRATES NATIONAL TOURISM & TRAVEL WEEK

    Discover Prince William & Manassas, the convention and visitors bureau of Prince William County and Manassas, Virginia, held its annual National Tourism Week Luncheon & Industry Awards on May 6 at the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas, Virginia. The annual industry award ceremony honors the contributions of individuals and organizations to the promotion and development of Prince William & Manassas as a tourism destination. The industry awards were sponsored by the Virginia Restaurant Lodging Travel Association.
