Prince William, VA - The 150th commemoration of the Battle of First Manassas/Bull Run event Discover Prince William & Manassas, VA produced last year is still receiving accolades.
On March 25, VRS Meetings & Events, the company Discover Prince William & Manassas contracted with to manage the two-day reenactment, received two awards from The Greater Washington D.C. Chapter of the International Special Events Society.

The company earned top honors in the Corporate/Public Event Management of more than $250,000 category. The team including VRS, Select Event Rentals, Temp-Power and The Convention Store also received the Best ISES Team Award for working collaboratively on the commemoration. VRS was one of about 60 nominees competing for 18 awards.

“We are thrilled VRS received awards for its work on the reenactment,” Discover Prince William & Manassas, VA Executive Director Ann Marie Maher said. “VRS’ dedicated team, its partners and our partners all created a memorable event that will be talked about for years to come.”

VRS managed the two-day reenactment, which included about 8,700 reenactors who recreated the Battle of First Manassas/Bull Run.

“It was an honor to be selected by Discover Prince William & Manassas to work side by side with their amazing team to produce the re-enactment,” said Valerie Sumner with VRS. “Truly this event commemorated a ‘moment that changed America’ and was a once in a lifetime experience for VRS.”

This was ISES D.C.’s 17th year for its Capital Awards Gala. The winners were selected by another ISES chapter. VRS, based in Falls Church, will now vie for a national ISES award.
Last fall, Discover Prince William & Manassas received three awards from the International Festivals and Events Association for its marketing campaign on the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Battle of First Manassas/Bull Run.
