Wednesday, March 9, 2016

The Northern Virginia Visitors Consortium (NVVC) has been awarded $9,375.00 in grant funding by Virginia Tourism Corporation to continue international tourism efforts, which promotes Northern Virginia as a vibrant and multi-faceted destination to Canadian visitors.

In 2013, Northern Virginia tourism agencies united to implement their first collective Canadian marketing campaign. The NVVC is comprised of Discover Prince William & Manassas, Alexandria Convention & Visitors Association, Arlington Convention & Visitors Service, Visit Fairfax and Visit Loudoun. Formed more than 10 years ago, the group focuses on collaborative marketing opportunities to promote Northern Virginia.

“The additional funding received this year will assist Northern Virginia in the continuation of brand identity to better attract international visitors,” President/CEO from Discover Prince William & Manassas Ann Marie Maher said. “Visitors don’t know jurisdiction boundaries, so by working collaboratively we can offer a stronger product to visitors.”

The campaign will continue to be led by BCF, an advertising agency focused on marketing travel and destinations, and will include photos, videos and multi-media ads that promote Northern Virginia’s history, wine country, shopping and outdoor recreation. To learn more visit nvvc.virginia.org.

VTC awarded more than $800,000 in grants for 39 tourism marketing projects across the state.
