WWI Wednesday

In commemoration of the Centennial of World War I, the Museum will be hosting WWI Wednesday educational displays the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month. Our Education and Community Outreach teams will be displaying WWI uniforms and gear in Leatherneck Gallery. There will also be a craft for children! The Forgotten World War and Its Impact at Home: World War I Collaborative Exhibit with the Manassas Musuem

Working in conjunction with the Manassas Museum this exhibit will look at the home front in Prince William County and Manassas during World War I. Themes will include music and propaganda, the impact of the Spanish Flu epidemic in the area, and the growth of farms and local military bases and their impact on the county. A final section will list all the soldiers from the area that were KIA. Attachments

Rippon Lodge in Mourning

Visual Magic - The Art of Four Picture Book Illustrators Visual Magic features four talented children’s book illustrators: Janet Stoeke, Carol Schwartz, Susan Roth, and Jennifer O’Connell. The artists have contributed to multiple children’s publications, and their crisp dynamic images bring life to the stories. They work with various mediums, including gouache, Photoshop, and even collage to express topics that range from science and nature to culture and history! Meet the illustrators at the reception, September 16, 2017 at 5:30 pm. *Bookworm Central will have books available for purchase at the reception. ********* Greater Manassas/Prince William County sponsors theatrical productions for children and adults, teaches arts classes, promotes visual arts and provides community outreach programs for local youth. Founded in 1984 by a group of artists and art lovers, the Center aims to enrich the quality of life in the Northern Virginia suburbs through arts performance and education.
