Pajama Party

We all know we’d wear pajamas in public if it were socially acceptable because they’re comfortable; plus, we’d have one less thing to do when we get home… Brew Republic is providing you with just such an opportunity. Join us on Saturday, 11/11 for our first ever Pajama Party in the tap room. We’ll have great beer, delicious food, live music with Chris Rall, and a Cards Against Humanity Tournament, with major awards for the winner, as well as the person who wears the best pajamas (as decided by popular vote). Armageddon Release and Comic Book Giveaway

Herioc has teamed up again with our friends from C3 Comics to create a limited release Belgian Quad inspired by the Four Horsemen from the C3 title "IV: Armageddon." Bristoe Station Veteran's Day Commemorative Tour

During four years of war, hundreds of Civil War soldiers were buried in the area around Bristoe Station. Some died in the two battles that were fought for control of the strategic railroad. Others succumbed to disease they were encamped in the area from a few days to a few months. While some remains were removed after the war, many still reside in the area. This special candlelight tour of the battle will highlight some of the soldiers who died at Bristoe Station. Bristoe Station Battlefield Heritage Park. Attachments

Early Days of Prince William County

Prince William County’s history begins in 1731 when it was founded by the Virginia House of Burgesses. One of the County’s oldest homes will host a special event to highlight the history and culture of Native Americans and the colonial peoples of the area. Living history demonstrations, colonial life and military encampments from various conflicts, such as the American Revolution, and of Native American cultures will be available all day. Fee-free days provide a great opportunity to visit a new place or an old favorite. They will give both first time and repeat visitors a good reason to spend time in our national parks. The fee wavier does not cover expanded amenities or users fees for such things as camping. Attachments

US Classic Orienteering Championships

Have you been coming to Quantico Orienteering Club's local events? Are you a long time orienteer? If so, this event is for you! We invite everyone to come out and experience the excitement of orienteering at a National Championship event on the debut maps of some of the finest orienteering terrain in the Mid-Atlantic region. The 2017 U.S. Classic Champs will be the first events ever in two newly mapped areas of the Marine Corps Base Quantico. Come celebrate Quantico Orienteering Club’s 50th anniversary and be the first orienteers to see this new terrain! Hosted by Quantico Orienteering Club, the 2017 U.S. Classic Champs event will feature two days of Classic Orienteering Competition . While you are welcome to compete just one day, we encourage you to register for both days as final results and placements are based on 2-day combined times. This event is open to all levels of orienteering. Open Course Classes allow participation for those who do not want to run in their age class; e.g., You are a 30 year old male who normally does a Brown course, you may sign up to go out on M-Brown. Nature’s Pharmacy: Plants that Heal The Botanical Art Society of the National Capital Region On exhibit: November 1 – December 13 The Botanical Art Society of the National Capital Region is a chapter of the American Society of Botanical Artists with over 100 members in Virginia. BASNCR promotes an appreciation of botanical art and supports educational activities focusing on botanical awareness. Their exhibits showcase the beauty of nature, as well as the science of botanical art while utilizing a variety of media such as watercolor, graphite, and colored pencil. The Forgotten World War and Its Impact at Home: World War I Collaborative Exhibit with the Manassas Musuem

Working in conjunction with the Manassas Museum this exhibit will look at the home front in Prince William County and Manassas during World War I. Themes will include music and propaganda, the impact of the Spanish Flu epidemic in the area, and the growth of farms and local military bases and their impact on the county. A final section will list all the soldiers from the area that were KIA. Attachments
