Visit Rippon Lodge and stroll through seasonal celebrations gone by. The interior and exterior of the historic house will be decorated for the holidays. Various rooms inside the home will represent different periods of seasonal celebrations, from the Colonial Period through the 1940s. Light refreshments, a warm beverage, and shopping for unique Rippon merchandise round out a wonderful tour. Reservations strongly recommended for groups larger than 4. Tours begin on the hour on the front porch. Guests should dress in appropriate attire and comfortable shoes for this walking tour. Attachments

Nature’s Pharmacy: Plants that Heal The Botanical Art Society of the National Capital Region On exhibit: November 1 – December 13 The Botanical Art Society of the National Capital Region is a chapter of the American Society of Botanical Artists with over 100 members in Virginia. BASNCR promotes an appreciation of botanical art and supports educational activities focusing on botanical awareness. Their exhibits showcase the beauty of nature, as well as the science of botanical art while utilizing a variety of media such as watercolor, graphite, and colored pencil. Nature’s Pharmacy fuses this passion for science and the beauty of nature by emphasizing plants with historic medicinal purposes. Meet the artists at the reception, November 11, 2-4 pm Attachments

The Forgotten World War and Its Impact at Home: World War I Collaborative Exhibit with the Manassas Musuem

Working in conjunction with the Manassas Museum this exhibit will look at the home front in Prince William County and Manassas during World War I. Themes will include music and propaganda, the impact of the Spanish Flu epidemic in the area, and the growth of farms and local military bases and their impact on the county. A final section will list all the soldiers from the area that were KIA. Attachments
