Potomac Nationals vs. Down East Wood Ducks

Saturday night baseball at the ballpark in Woodbridge as the P-Nats play the 3rd game of their series with the Wood Ducks, and there will be a lot in store for fans. The first 1250 fans will receive a bobblehead of 2014 P-Nats player Pedro Severino and his rise to the majors. There will be postgame fireworks and kids run the bases. And adults, they have not forgotten about you-Flying Dog Brewery will be at the game providing samples for a beer tasting. Attachments

Bristoe Station Battlefield Heritage Park Tours

Bristoe Station Battlefield staff and volunteers will provide guided tours of the hallowed grounds that contain camps, cemeteries, and battlefields. Learn about Camp Jones and the battles that took place in 1862 and 1863. Tours begin on the hour and depart from the kiosk in the parking lot on Iron Brigade Unit Avenue. The last tour leaves at 3PM. Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. Insect repellant is encouraged. No pets please. Attachments

Potomac Blockade Bus Tour

Cruise along the Potomac River shoreline and view sites that were critical to the Confederate forces’ successful blockade of Washington D.C. from September 1861 through March 1862. Local historians will discuss the significance of the Blockade and of the gun batteries and camps that supported the Confederate efforts. The cruise will include the preserved batteries at Freestone Point and Possum Nose, as well as Evansport and Shipping Point. Tour includes lunch and departs from Leesylvania State Park in Woodbridge. Kayaks and Coffee

Start at Grind N Crepe at 9am for a cup o' joe and breakfast, continue to Penguin Paddling to rent kayaks and paddleboards and finish the afternoon on the Patio of Madigan's Waterfront Restaurant for lunch and drinks. Yoga on the Lawn at Rippon Lodge

Enjoy performing yoga on the lawn with amazing views of the Potomac River and historic Rippon Lodge in the background. No one could ask for a better outdoor venue to exercise. Join certified instructor Christopher Glowacki for an hour long Vinyasa yoga practice. Beginning yoga students to well-versed devotes are welcomed. Participants are encouraged to bring a yoga mat, towel and plenty of water; beginners may want to bring a block and/or strap. Classes are offered most Saturday mornings from May to September. Call Rippon Lodge to confirm class day and times. Those purchasing 10 classes will receive punch cards which are good for the whole season. Additional classes may be purchased at any time.
