Family Day - WWI - 100th Anniversary of Belleau Wood

Detox to Retox Beer & Yoga

Join WheelHouse Mind Body Studio founders Kelly and Alyson for Detox to Retox at the Republic! Our monthly beer and yoga class is a basic 60 minute Vinyasa Flow suitable for beginners and experienced students. Participants will enjoy basic and advanced poses, hand on assists and learn breathing techniques so you are ready to be more mindful when it comes to the Beer tasting! Mats, blocks and towels are provided, but we encourage you to bring your own mat if you have one as well as a water bottle. $20 per person includes class and a post-yoga pour of any beer on tap or a glass of wine. Yoga Farm Retreat

Full day yoga retreat at Little Goat Farm at the Lake is a fun, relaxing day on the farm. The day will offer an opening yoga ceremony, meditation, and of course our friendly goats, llama, and alpacas and chickens. Zen landscapes and ample time for self-exploration and unplugged restoration. We will offer a locally grown and harvested green goddess salad with fresh goat cheese made from pure goat love and supplemented with fragrant fresh fruit. Enjoy an afternoon pick me up with locally foraged wild tea and fresh honey gifted from our very own bee hives. As we close our day with a gratitude yoga class, we will leave the farm feeling satisfied, replenished, and giddy with glee. All participants must be over 12 years old. Yoga on the Lawn

Enjoy performing yoga on the lawn with amazing views of the Potomac River and historic Rippon Lodge in the background. No one could ask for a better outdoor venue to exercise. Join certified instructor Christopher Glowacki for an hour-long Vinyasa yoga practice. Beginning yoga students to well versed devotes are welcomed. Participants are encouraged to bring a yoga mat, towel and plenty of water; beginners may want to bring a block and/or strap. Classes offered most Saturday morning from June to October. Call Rippon Lodge to confirm class day and times. Those purchasing 10 classes will receive punch cards, which are good for the whole season. Attachments

Home School Day at the Weems-Botts Museum

The Weems-Botts Museum welcomes area home school families to a tour of the historic house museum and a hands-on, SOL-based lesson on archaeology. Families will participate in a mock "dig." Kids will have so much fun they won't even know they are learning about observations versus inferences while they use their critical thinking skills to interpret the artifacts they discover. They will also get the chance to hold real artifacts, try and piece together pot sherds, and make a fossil imprint or petroglyph carving to take home. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy it in our covered pavilion area in Merchant Park. $5/youth (6-18); adults and children under 6 free. Reservations appreciated.Attachments
