Overnight Stay at the Pringle House Hospital

From July 21 until the end of August, 1861, Ben Lomond was converted into the Pringle House Hospital to care for hundreds of wounded soldiers after the fateful events of the first major battle of the Civil War. Join site historians in a unique opportunity to spend the night in the hospital and learn about the wounded soldiers who were treated there, the families who were impacted, and the effects of the war on Northern Virginia. The evening will include a tour of the hospital, an evening campfire, and more. Breakfast will be provided in the morning. Participants must bring their own sleeping materials. Attachments

Revolutionary Readers: A Book Club for Young Readers

ABOUT The Prince William County Fair is the largest County Fair in the state of Virginia. The annual event in Manassas includes livestock exhibits, home arts exhibits, tractor pulls, a rodeo, demolition derbies, baby contests, live music and a variety of midway shows. Games and carnival rides are provided by America’s #1 Carnival Company, Deggeller Attractions Inc. Prince William County 4-H Clubs participate in numerous activities and demonstrations. Upwards of 90,000 to 100,000 spectators are expected to pass through the turnstiles this year. HISTORY The Fair began in 1949 by a group of young World War II veterans who wanted to promote the agricultural industry in the county. Civil War Advanced Camp

For folks that have completed the Civil War Basic and Advanced Camps. This camp will incorporate service projects and field trips to sites of historical significance in the area, and gives participants an opportunity to gain a greater understanding of how these sites are remembered and commemorated for future generations.
