Family Day-Girls make History

This month's Family Day theme is GIRLS MAKE HISTORY. Spend the afternoon with Felicity, Molly, Addie, and all their friends while you take a journey through Marine Corps History, from 1775 to the present day. Games, hands-on activities, special guests, and crafts will be on hand as well, making this a wonderful, family day at the Marine Corps Museum. As always, parking and admission are free to the MCM!  

Bristoe Station Battlefield Heritage Park Tours

Bristoe Station Battlefield staff and volunteers will provide guided tours of the hallowed grounds that contain camps, cemeteries, and battlefields. Learn about Camp Jones and the battles that took place in 1862 and 1863. Tours begin on the hour and depart from the kiosk in the parking lot on Iron Brigade Unit Avenue. The last tour leaves at 3PM. Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. Insect repellant is encouraged. No pets please. Attachments

Yoga on the Lawn at Rippon Lodge

Enjoy performing yoga on the lawn with amazing views of the Potomac River and historic Rippon Lodge in the background. No one could ask for a better outdoor venue to exercise. Join certified instructor Christopher Glowacki for an hour long Vinyasa yoga practice. Beginning yoga students to well-versed devotes are welcomed. Participants are encouraged to bring a yoga mat, towel and plenty of water; beginners may want to bring a block and/or strap. Classes are offered most Saturday mornings from May to September. Call Rippon Lodge to confirm class day and times. Those purchasing 10 classes will receive punch cards which are good for the whole season. Additional classes may be purchased at any time. Overnight Stay at the Pringle House Hospital

From July 21 until the end of August, 1861, Ben Lomond was converted into the Pringle House Hospital to care for hundreds of wounded soldiers after the fateful events of the first major battle of the Civil War. Join site historians in a unique opportunity to spend the night in the hospital and learn about the wounded soldiers who were treated there, the families who were impacted, and the effects of the war on Northern Virginia. The evening will include a tour of the hospital, an evening campfire, and more. Breakfast will be provided in the morning. Participants must bring their own sleeping materials. Attachments
