Potomac Nationals vs. Winston-Salem Dash

Friday night Carolina League baseball action as the P-Nats welcome to town for the first time this year the Winston-Salem Dash (White Sox affiliate). Players will be wearing vintage franchise jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game to benefit local charities. It will also be Bark in the Park, where you can bring your dog to the game, and be invited to participate in a dog parade pre-game. Postgame, there will be fireworks, and kids will be invited down to the field to run the bases. Attachments

Circo Hermanos Vazquez traveling Circus

Potomac Mills will play host to the renowned Circo Hermanos Vazquez traveling circus this week from August 18th to the 28th. Taking place under a huge blue and purple top tent near Marshalls, the show features clowns, trapeze artists, and amazing aerial acrobatics. Founded in 1969, this breakthrough show features performers from around the world and is completely animal-free. Performances begin this week with weekday shows starting Thursday at 7:30pm and over the weekend at 2:00pm, 5:00pm, and 8:00pm. Civil War Advanced Camp

The Civil War Advanced Camp picks up where the Basic Camp leaves off. Participants will have the opportunity to speak with famous officer from the war, expand their knowledge of campaign foods and how they were prepared, learn of the cavalry, participate in artillery drill, build a sunshade. This camp includes a tour of 2nd Manassas battlefield sites at Manassas National Battlefield. Registration for this camp can be completed on line at www.pwcparks.org or by calling 703-792-8320.
