Movies Under the Stars-Angry Birds Movie

Potomac Nationals vs. Winston-Salem Dash

Its Saturday night baseball in Woodbridge as the P-Nats continue their series with the Dash. The first 1250 fans will receive an Anthony Rendon "Real Electric Hair" Bobblehead. Scouts are invited to bring their den, pack, or troop to the game, and after the game pitch a tent on the field to camp out over night. Former MLB pitcher Dwight "Doc" Gooden will be in town to throw out the first pitch and sign autographs. Flying Dog Brewery will be on site to provide beer tastings. After the game, there will be postgame fireworks, and kids will be invited to the field to run the bases. Attachments

Prince William Farm to Table Dinner for Environmental Education

On Saturday August 19, 2017 the Prince William Environmental Excellence Foundation (Foundation) will be hosting their second annual Farm to Table fundraiser dinner to support environmental education. This year’s event will be held at Windy Knoll Farm located at 11602 Kettle Run Rd., Nokesville, VA 20181. Windy Knoll Farm is a working sheep and cattle farm with an event center that hosts the MWEE program that the Foundation helps to provide to Prince William county 3rd graders. The event will run from 4 – 8 p.m. with the meal being served from 5 – 7 p.m. In addition to the meal, there will also be opportunities to meet the local sponsors and view vendor displays and antique equipment. A silent auction and 50/50 raffle will be held until 7 p.m. at which time winners will be announced. For those interested in a tour of the farm, hay rides will be provided that include a MWEE experience that area third graders receive at the farm. Cooking demos will also be available that highlights preparing fresh produce. The meal will be an open seating buffet style dinner consisting of pork, chicken, and beef brisket BBQ, roasted corn on the cob, coleslaw, potato salad, a fresh greens garden salad, and seasonal fruit cobbler with ice cream prepared by Blue Dog BBQ. Refreshments will be provided by PWCSWCD that include; lemonade, tea, and water. All ingredients for this meal have been provided & produced by farms within Prince William County. . Two of our sponsors, Old Bust Head Brewing Company and The Winery at La Grange will be on site offering by the glass purchase of locally produced beer and wine. The list of farms that have contributed to this wonderful meal include; Yankey Farms, Rainbow Acres Farms, Evergreen Acres, True Farms, The Bloom Farm, Windy Knoll Farm. Kettle Wind Farms, Dutchland Farms, Greenville Farms, Out on a Limb Orchard, and Moose Acres. Additional sponsors include: The Winery at La Grange, Old Bust Head Brewing Company, Prince William – Fairfax Farm Bureau, Nokesville – Bristow Ruritans, Blue Dog BBQ, Get Bubbly Ferments, Tractor Supply Company, and Shumate Auctions. All proceeds from the event go towards the implementation of beyond the walls of the classroom environmental and agricultural education for the Prince William County Community. This mission is achieved through educational programs: Farm Field Days, Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences (MWEE’s), Arbor Day activities, Water Quality Monitoring, and Adopt-A-Stream, to name a few. Your support of the Foundation and the community enable us to provide these outreach programs. Unfortunately tickets are limited and there will be no day of event sales. Purchase your tickets early and bring a friend or neighbor to a dinner that highlights the wonderful agricultural products produced in Prince William County. National Bee Day at Rippon Lodge

Enjoy National Bee Day at Rippon Lodge Historic Site. With special guest Sweet Virginia and the Freedom High School Bee Club, learn about honey bees, how they work as a hive, produce honey, how you can contribute to protect these endangered species, and what can be made out of the honey and wax. Taste fresh honey as well. Space is limited. Please note bees are temperamental and may sting. If you are allergic to bees or honey, please make sure you use extra caution or do not attend. So You Want to be a Civil War Soldier Camp

This camp is designed to put all of the lessons learned in the previous camps into practice as participants enlist in a company, establish a camp and become a soldier in camp for two days through a series of hands on activities and drills. Parents and children will be staying in shelter tents and performing camp duties from 4 pm Friday to noon on Sunday. Participants will need to bring sleeping bag or blankets. Yoga on the Lawn at Rippon Lodge

Enjoy performing yoga on the lawn with amazing views of the Potomac River and historic Rippon Lodge in the background. No one could ask for a better outdoor venue to exercise. Join certified instructor Christopher Glowacki for an hour long Vinyasa yoga practice. Beginning yoga students to well-versed devotes are welcomed. Participants are encouraged to bring a yoga mat, towel and plenty of water; beginners may want to bring a block and/or strap. Classes are offered most Saturday mornings from May to September. Call Rippon Lodge to confirm class day and times. Those purchasing 10 classes will receive punch cards which are good for the whole season. Additional classes may be purchased at any time. Circo Hermanos Vazquez traveling Circus

Potomac Mills will play host to the renowned Circo Hermanos Vazquez traveling circus this week from August 18th to the 28th. Taking place under a huge blue and purple top tent near Marshalls, the show features clowns, trapeze artists, and amazing aerial acrobatics. Founded in 1969, this breakthrough show features performers from around the world and is completely animal-free. Performances begin this week with weekday shows starting Thursday at 7:30pm and over the weekend at 2:00pm, 5:00pm, and 8:00pm.
