Join the Prince William Historic Preservation Foundation and BadWolf Brewing on March 16, 2017 from 6-8pm as we examine the role of beer throughout American History for the next few months in a series we call Brews and Brains! The Prince William and Northern Virginia area has a rich social history throughout the 18th, 19th, and 20th century in which beer played a part. From the role of taverns as a social and political venue throughout the 18th and 19th century, the impact of alcohol throughout the Civil War, to the economic influence of the development of breweries throughout the 20th century and prohibition, alcohol played a role in shaping the area today. ? History Happy Hour: An Evening at Ben Lomond Historic Site

Looking for a unique way to visit one of Prince William County’s distinctive historic sites? Take part in our new series History Happy Hour! Receive two drink tickets to use over the course of the evening, and come and explore Ben Lomond to learn about the Civil War and medicine. Interact with living history interpreters, take part in a history scavenger hunt, see musket firing demonstrations, and explore the Civil War Hospital without barriers.
