The proceeds from the additional cards will go to support wounded warriors through Azalea Charities. Music will play over the speakers, and if you correctly identify the song, and it is on your card, you mark that song. If you get 5 in a row before everyone else, you’ll win a major award. And as an added twist, if two or more people get bingo at the same time, we’ll have a dance-off to determine the winner (by popular vote of course). A National Guard unit returning from a humanitarian mission in Afghanistan will be making a pit stop at Brew Republic Bierwerks in Woodbridge. Here’s what the general manager has to say: My name is Scott Melice, I am the general manager here at Brew Republic Bierwerks in Woodbridge, VA. We were forwarded the following article that was recently written about the MD National Guard Unit, http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/bs-md-national-guard-special-ops-returning-20180125-story.html. We were contacted by the spouse of one of those brave soldiers and asked us if we would be able to host the unit on their way back from deployment. Being a veteran owned business and having one of our private investors also close with those soldiers, we of course were more than happy to accommodate their group. They will arrive in our taproom on March 4th around 12-1 pm and staying for a couple of hours to relax and recuperate after their deployment.Attachments

Lecture: US Marines in The Great War

Thursday, 03/22/2018 7:00 PM

March 22 Lecture: US Marines in The Great War 7 p.m. Free, donations accepted In 1917, US General John 'Black Jack' Pershing ordered the US Marine Expeditionary Force and the US Army to serve as one force in France. The Army and Marines were to look the same and fight together. However the Marines did everything possible to keep their identity by putting USMC buttons on their green army uniforms and using USMC insignia as well. The US Marines performed above and beyond expectations. They were such a force that the Germans gave them the nickname "Teufelshunde" - Devil Dogs at the Battle of Belleau Woods in June 1918. Circalyans:warriors of the untime

Friday, 03/23/2018 - Wednesday, 04/25/2018

Circalyans:warriors of the untime Donnamaria R Jones (On exhibit: March 6 – April 25, 2018) Fascinated by the indomitable spirit defining warriors of times past, present and imagined future, she has created an amalgamated league of conquerors, the Circalyan Warriors of the Untime, that transcend all time periods. The rustic, near life-sized portrait panels evoke the sheer might and domination of the eclectically adorned and armed combatants. Donnamaria R. Jones, a military veteran, is a portrait photographer based in the Washington Metropolitan area, and owns Circa Life Images photography studio in Waldorf, MD. The creative process behind the Circalyan Warriors was practically a full-on production featuring a makeup artist, special effects artist, studio set, custom made costumes, and of course, models - most, if not all, tattooed by Scotte "Bricks" Turner of Bricks Tattoo. But, of course, before the photo shoot, there was the original conception: Although Donnamaria was partially influenced by her martial arts background and her military career, she also acknowledges that the exhibit has some metaphorical significance as well. Donnamaria believes that each one of us deals with inner battles daily, even if not physically visible to those on the outside. The Circalyans could be considered the visual representations of these inner battles that we all experience. The scars, some authentic and some created, are considered the "spoils of victory”, and are often something we hide, rather than expose or celebrate. Meet the Artist April 7, 6-8 pm during our catered reception! Heavy hors d'oeuvres and wine will be served - free and open to the public. For more information about the artist please visit: https://www.circalifeimages.com/index Attachments

Our Town

Friday, 03/30/2018 - Saturday, 03/31/2018

webart Our Town Our Town is a 1938 metatheatrical* three-act play by American playwright Thornton Wilder. It tells the story of the fictional American small town of Grover’s Corners between 1901 and 1913 through the everyday lives of its citizens. *Wilder sets the play in the actual theatre where it is being performed. The main character is the stage manager of the theatre who breaks the “fourth wall”** by directly addressing the audience, bringing in guest lecturers, fielding questions from the audience, and fills in playing some of the roles. The play is performed without a set on a mostly bare stage. **When a scene is set indoors and three of the walls of its room are presented onstage, the “fourth wall” would run along the line dividing the room on stage from the auditorium (technically called the “proscenium”). The fourth wall is thus an invisible, imagined wall that separates the actors from the audience. While the audience can see through this “wall”, the actors act as if they cannot.
