Get a glimpse inside the artistic process at this partially-staged performance “in workshop.” Historical context and commentary is weaved into this performance of one of Gilbert and Sullivan’s most popular (but controversial) operettas. Representing these artists at the height of their creative genius, this topsy-turvy story has delighted and disturbed audiences for more than a century. Originally staged at the Savoy Theatre in London in 1885 at the height of Europe’s fascination with the East, this event launches Mason’s Year of Gilbert and Sullivan Celebration. Tickets: $20 general admission; $10 students, staff, seniors, and groups
