Details

March 3 & 17 History of Cooking with the Pat White Center: St. Patrick's Day 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.; $30 dollars per family for both sessions each month. Throughout early Virginia, much of the area was settled by English and Scotch-Irish immigrants who continued their cultural traditions in their new home. For St. Patrick's Day, join us at Ben Lomond Historic Site and the Pat White Center at Ben Lomond as we make traditional Irish cuisine as it would have been made in the days before electricity and pasteurization. On March 3 learn about the process of pasteurization as we make cheese, hand-cranked ice cream, and homemade butter. On March 17 we will be making potatoes, fried cabbage, and sausage for St. Patrick's Day. Admission is $30 per family for both sessions. For more information or to register, please visit www.pwcparks.org or by calling 703-792-8320 or 703-792-5618.
