Event Details

Tackett’s Mill Center is proud to participate in WinterFest 2017 on Saturday, December 9th. Mark your calendars for this regional event spanning from Tackett’s Mill to both sides of the Occoquan River, presented by the Occoquan River Communities (ORC). WinterFest begins with “Santa’s Lake Ridge Parade” from 11am to Noon. The parade is organized and sponsored by “Santa’s Old Bridge Parade Inc.” and begins at the corner of Minnieville Road and Harbor Drive in the VDOT lot. It moves north on Harbor Drive, turns into the Tackett’s Mill Center at the McDonalds, and circles down to the beautiful Lakeside for a meet and greet with Santa, plus an award ceremony, and the Tackett’s Mill Holiday Arts Market from noon to 3pm with live music, treats, and gift items. (For 2017, the parade’s theme is “Comic Book Christmas”. Email paradesanta@gmail.com for more information or to enter the parade. Entries are being accepted until mid-November. Click here or below for an entry form. WinterFest continues from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. After the Holiday Arts Market, head to the Historic Town of Occoquan for an evening of shopping and dining with strolling carolers, holiday music, fire pits, marshmallow roasting, and period dressed re-enactors. The Workhouse Arts Center joins WinterFest from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with its Saturday Art Walk. Stroll through artists’ studios and enjoy refreshments, fire pits and sing-along caroling, Santa Claus, and maybe even some carriage rides! Fireworks complete the day! A festive display of fireworks from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m is sponsored by Prince William Marina. Free parking is available at Hoffmaster’s Marina and the Occoquan Regional Park from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. with great views of the fireworks and more free hot chocolate. Or watch along the riverfront in the historic town of Occoquan. Activities are continually being added.
